News: What the Dickens? Cover

As the issue is now out, I'm allowed to reveal my artwork was selected as the cover of What the Dickens? magazine, in the creative teams' own words a 'bi-monthly magazine for writers, readers and all literary types'.

What the Dickens? Issue 2 cover
WTD? Issue 2 focuses on the dual themes of Charles Dickens and Love. While the latter is a common theme for February due to Valentine's Day falling smack-dab in the middle of the month, Dickens-themed celebrations will also be seen throughout February due to the author's bicentenary taking place on the 7th.

I was approached by WTD's lovely editor, Victoria,  as my Great Expectations themed-art was a sort of marriage (no pun intended) of the two themes.

A big thank you to everyone at WTD for this wonderful opportunity!

Here are some sketches I've been doing in the evenings to wind down - based on old photographs from the Victorian and Edwardian era.
(These are concept sketches of characters from the Discworld novels.)

New Background Concept

A new background sketch I've been working on, of the ruined cottage.
I'm trying to get a more mysterious feel.
I wanted there to be a lot of strips of light, to suggest trees in the distance.
